Misty-Rae is a kind, loving teacher and my boys loved having her as their teacher through preschool and Pre K. Both of our children truly looking forward to going to school each morning! She always had fun exciting centres for the kids - water tables, crafts, educational but always fun activities. We love that she focuses and encourages outdoor messy play - my boys loved that part the most! We truly have nothing but amazing things to say about her and would highly recommend her to teach, care for and love anyone else children! Our family was incredibly fortunate to have our two boys at Cornerstone. Our boys transitioned from homecare into daycare successfully because of the skilled and professional care of the Cornerstone Staff. Misty-Rae and her team are exceptional at creating a rich learning environment for children and for supporting families of young children by offering high-quality and exceptional daycare. Cornerstone is more than a team of kind-hearted caregivers- it is a center that offers children opportunities for growth, development, kindergarten-readiness, and social/emotional well-being. The staff also teach children how to be good friends to each other. Our boys always brought home awesome art that they were proud of and they learned about new topics every week. The teachers at the center also work with parents to help support our growth. As a first-time mom to two boys, I had a lot of questions about how to best support my children through their toddler years. Misty-Rae and her team always took the time to ensure I knew how their day went, and give me tips on how to manage stickier situations (like potty training). Our children’s favorite thing to do was play in the big, shady, beautiful backyard. Everyday when I came to pick up the boys, I could hear children’s laughter and happy shouts as I got near-it was by far the highlight of my day. I always felt confident that my children were safe at Cornerstone.
We have been away from Cornerstone for a year now and the boys still talk about the great teachers. Misty-Rae is a gifted business owner, who my family still appreciates to this day. Cornerstone Early Learning Center is an important part of our children’s positive memories of their first experience venturing into the world outside of our home. Our daughter loves Cornerstone and so do we! She adores her teachers and speaks fondly of them every weekend we she is not there. She’s excited to go to school in the mornings and annoyed when we pick her up too early. She tells us she doesn’t learn but loves how much she gets to play and have fun. We disagree- she can do math, print, cut, create etc. and although I’d love to take the credit, it’s from the two wonderful years she has spent at Cornerstone Early Learning Center.
Misty-Rae and her staff are phenomenal! As educators, they create brilliant and elaborate environments for early learning. Their creativity astounds me each time I walk through the door-in fact you can follow Cornerstone on Instagram for inspiration on learning activities. Our daughter has soaked up so much knowledge from her time at Cornerstone that I no doubt she is ready for Kindergarten in the fall. Physical activity through outdoor play is important at Cornerstone and its benefits both the physical and mental aspects of early development. The staff are approachable and have been phenomenal at working together with us to navigate toilet-training and nap elimination. They respect our concerns and also offer valuable suggestions. The teamwork to ensure the most positive early learning experience between the Cornerstone Educators and our family has made for a wonderful two years! -Kristie Carkner
